I'm a photographer, a dad, a professional awkward-person whisperer and the guy who will probably make a questionable joke while fixing your collar.
I built The Portrait Lens for people who want beautiful photographs without the stiff poses, the boring photographer, or the feeling that they need to become somebody else for the camera.
I'm particularly fond of alternative couples, dark romance, tattooed humans, wonderfully weird people and families who are more chaos than catalogue.
But here's the thing: you don't need to fit a particular aesthetic to belong here. You can have a black wedding dress, a traditional ceremony, ten kids, a blended family or absolutely no idea what to do with your hands when someone points a camera at you.
I've got you.
I'll help you feel comfortable, offer guidance when it helps, and capture the moments that happen naturally. I'll notice the little details and look for the photographs that mean something beyond simply looking pretty.

I'll document the real stuff and step in with direction when it helps. You don't need to know how to pose or perform for the camera. That's my job.

Your finished gallery gives you photographs to revisit and share. From there, we can explore prints, framed artwork and albums that bring your favourites into the real world.

Do you only photograph alternative weddings?
Not at all. I love alternative weddings, but what matters most is that your day feels like you. Traditional weddings, intimate celebrations, elopements and wonderfully unconventional plans are all welcome.
We're awkward in front of the camera. Will that be a problem?
Absolutely not. In fact, you're in excellent company. I'll guide you when you need it, help you relax and give you something to do with those suspiciously awkward hands. You don't need to know how to pose.
Do you photograph all kinds of families?
Yes. Blended families, LGBTQ+ families, chosen families, multigenerational families and families with children of all ages are welcome. There's no right way to be a family.
Where are you based?
I'm based in the Caboolture area and photograph weddings and families across North Brisbane, Moreton Bay and surrounding areas. Have a location in mind further afield? Get in touch and let's talk.
Do we receive digital photographs?
Yes. Your finished images are delivered through a personal online gallery. You can enjoy and share your photographs digitally, with print options available for turning your favourites into something tangible.
Why do you make such a big deal about prints?
Because digital files are easy to forget and delete. A photograph on your wall, a beautifully made album or a print box you open years later becomes part of your everyday life and family history. I want you to have options that last beyond the next phone upgrade.
